Don’t Hit Launch Until You’ve Checked These Boxes Webinar Replay

Digital Niche Agency’s recent October 2025 webinar “Don’t Hit Launch Until You’ve Checked These Boxes” offered a candid look at why so many Regulation CF campaigns fail and what you can do to beat the odds. CEO Jason Fishman and Head of Business Development Jazz Parker shared statistics, strategy, and actionable advice from the front lines of investor marketing. Here are the highlights.

Why do some campaigns fizzle?

Fishman opened with a reminder that only about 7 % of Reg CF issuers raise $1 M or more, and fewer than five of the 1,408 campaigns launched in 2024 reached $4.8 M. The common culprits are launching without a crowd, setting unrealistic goals or valuations, and relying on a portal to do the marketing for you. Many founders assume that simply posting an offering page and running a few ads will bring investors, but the data says otherwise. For guidance on building your pre‑launch momentum, read our post on “Why Early Marketing Sets the Tone for Early Success.”

The 8‑Point Strategy Plan

DNA’s 8‑Point Strategy Plan is designed to give founders a framework for preparation without getting lost in guesswork. In brief, you should:

  • Industry Analysis: Understand where you sit in the current landscape.

  • Competitive Market Audit: Learn what others are doing and how you can stand out.

  • Target Market Profiles: Get clear on who you’re speaking to and what matters to them.

  • Marketing Channels: Know where to reach your audience and how.

  • Strategic Partnerships: Identify who can help you grow.

  • Creatives: Build messaging and visuals that actually connect.

  • Projections: Forecast what’s possible across your channels.

  • Activation: Lay out the full timeline of your campaign, from soft launch to close.

These steps are explained in detail during the webinar and in our “equity crowdfunding tips for running a successful campaign.” Think of the plan as a checklist to ensure no part of your marketing machine is left to chance.

Building your Raise page

Parker emphasised that your raise page is the fulcrum of your campaign. Start with a strong headline (seven words or less), a clear elevator pitch, and three to eight investable highlights (traction, team strengths, mission). Use authentic photos of your team and a concise 1‑5 minute video. Avoid AI‑sounding boilerplate; investors can tell when your copy isn’t genuine. Each section of the page should convey a single takeaway, and the CTA should be obvious. For more design tips, see “Raise Page Design Secrets That Convert Investors.”

The founder’s role

Both speakers stressed that active founders win. The most successful raises have founders who personally drive outreach: answering questions, hosting webinars, joining podcasts, and keeping the drumbeat going. Passive founders who hope a portal or marketing agency will do all the work often underperform. To learn why early engagement matters, check out “What Founders Should Be Doing to Get in Front of More Investors.”

Strong vs. weak launches

Fishman contrasted strong launches with weak ones. A strong launch involves securing at least 25 % of your goal in soft commitments or a lead investment, publishing a professional video, using a media kit, and hosting live Q&A events. A weak launch goes public with zero commitments, uses generic copy or stock photos, and relies on the portal to find investors. Once you’re live, you only get one chance at first impressions.

Common mistakes to avoid

Many founders make the same errors: launching without a built‑in crowd; skipping a detailed strategy; setting unrealistic valuations; neglecting to build their own email list; and letting momentum fade after week one. A well‑planned content calendar, retargeting strategy, and continuous outreach are essential. Even the best campaigns need consistent engagement.
