Turning Momentum Into a Movement with Jason Fishman and Jazz Parker

Earlier this week, I had the pleasure of hosting a live session with my colleague Jazz Parker, where we dove into a topic that’s often overlooked in the world of crowdfunding and early-stage growth: what happens after the campaign ends.

So often, founders pour everything into their launch - the pitch, the video, the emails, the outreach - only to hit “funded” and… pause. But that’s not the end of the story. In many ways, it’s where the real work begins.

That’s exactly what Jazz and I unpacked in our webinar: how to turn your backers into believers and your early momentum into long-term movement.

We started by acknowledging something we both see often - a tendency to treat investors as transactions, not relationships. But the most successful founders we work with take a completely different approach. They see each backer as a potential partner, amplifier, and part of the bigger vision. They build with their community, not just for it.

Here are a few of the key themes we explored:

1. Two-Way Transparency Wins

Your early supporters don’t want perfection - they want honesty. We talked about how transparency isn’t just about reporting numbers or sharing updates. It’s about bringing people into the journey, including the messy middle parts. That’s where trust is built.

2. Communication That Goes Beyond “Thank You”

Founders often think a post-campaign thank-you note is the end of the relationship. In reality, it should be the start of an ongoing conversation. We covered specific tactics for keeping investors in the loop, including monthly snapshots, personal video updates, and even behind-the-scenes content that reminds them why they backed you in the first place.

3. Purpose is the Glue

What keeps people invested - emotionally and financially - is a shared purpose. Your campaign may have ended, but your mission hasn’t. We challenged founders to continuously revisit and articulate the “why” behind their work, and to invite their community to take ownership in that vision over time.

What made this webinar special was how many founders showed up not just to listen, but to learn how to lead with intention. Whether you're just wrapping up a raise or deep in the trenches of building your product, one truth holds across the board: your momentum is only as strong as your community.

We’ll be releasing the full replay soon - if you registered, it’s coming your way. And if you missed it, don’t worry. We’ll make sure you can catch up.

Until then, keep building - and remember: the real campaign is the one that comes after the raise.
