2025 Campaigns Wrapped: Lessons From This Year’s Million Dollar Raises

2025 was the busiest year yet for Digital Niche Agency. Dozens of equity crowdfunding campaigns exceeded $1 million in funding with DNA’s marketing support. In our recent 2025 Campaigns Wrapped webinar, Jason Fishman, Abby Kehr, Nicky Cheung, and Khalil Doheny shared the tactics, metrics, and lessons that emerged across these campaigns. Jason framed the session as a year-end retrospective; Abby likened the mix of strategies to a jazz composition; Khalil explained why momentum matters; and Nicky shared insights from a media buyer’s perspective.

This recap distills the most important takeaways for founders and marketers running Reg CF, Reg A+ and Reg D campaigns. At the end you’ll find a link to watch the full replay and download the slide deck.

Creative Trends and Messaging Themes

Mission-driven storytelling was the consistent winner. Campaigns that led with a clear purpose and audience saw higher engagement. Founders were highly visible through webinars, Q&As and behind the scenes videos. Creative built around a big “why” consistently outperformed generic feature-driven messaging. When investors saw the people and the mission behind a company, conversions improved.

Paid Media Benchmarks and Performance

CPCs and CPMs differed by vertical, but successful campaigns focused on qualified leads rather than sheer volume. CPLPV (cost per lead portal visit) proved a better measure of lead quality. Retargeting and look alike audiences were heavily used. Campaigns that allocated 20 to 30 percent of budget toward retargeting frequently saw the highest ROAS. Urgency tactics such as countdown ads, milestones, and early bonus deadlines were reliable conversion drivers.

Sustainability and tech campaigns often saw lower CPMs and higher engagement due to organic traction.

Content and Community Strategies

Continuous, educational content underpinned every successful raise. Founders and leadership teams served as visible, credible messengers. Campaigns that shared milestones, offered transparent updates, and regularly posted new video and written content saw stronger investor retention and repeat engagement. Equity crowdfunding thrives when investors feel included and informed. Campaigns that treated investors like insiders, not just contributors, built more momentum and longer term value.

Key Takeaways for Founders

Stay Active Year Round Crowdfunding momentum doesn’t stop when the calendar does. Campaigns that continued publishing updates, running ads and engaging with investors through the holidays outperformed those that went quiet.

Lead With Mission and Audience The most effective campaigns knew exactly who they were speaking to and why the raise mattered. Messaging grounded in audience outcomes and shared values consistently performed better.

Test and Optimize Creative There is no single formula. Treat your creative mix like a jazz ensemble. Test headlines, visuals, and hooks based on performance signals like CTR, CPLPV, and ROAS.

Build Community, Not Just Capital Equity crowdfunding rewards companies that communicate transparently and regularly. The best campaigns turned investors into brand advocates and long-term supporters.
